The sixth annual Insights Conference covered change, OTT, programmatic advertising, and how to make sense of today’s media landscape.

On Wednesday, May 29th, JW Player held its sixth annual Insights Conference at SECOND Floor in New York City.

The afternoon convened over 250 executives from across the media and advertising landscape to discuss the incredible opportunities that come along with the increasingly rapid rate of change within the digital video industry.

Fireside chats, panels, and presentations centered around how to take back control in the midst of this change, and specifically highlighted:

  • The State of Video in 2019 – Forrester
  • Redefining Distribution for Today’s Viewers – Insider, Inc.
  • Programmatic from the Publisher Perspective – Watson Advertising
  • The Buy Side Perspective on Programmatic Video – The Trade Desk, Adobe, Beeswax, and Digitas
  • Creative Eye: Visual Storytelling that Breaks through the Clutter – Framestore

And our co-founders, Dave Otten and Jeroen Wijering, and presented our take on today’s video environment and how our product roadmap looks to solve these challenges.

Here’s some of what we heard throughout the afternoon!

“Counter-intuitively, younger and more affluent consumers are actually more receptive to advertising as compared to others.” – Brandon Verblow, Forecast Analyst at Forrester.

“We want to respect the reader and their time and, above all, be helpful.” – John Ore, Chief Product Officer of Insider Inc.

“The opportunity is advertising in the OTT market.” – Dave Otten, Co-Founder & CEO of JW Player.

“Matching the technology and experience with the brief and brand is key to telling a story that will resonate.” – Charles Howell, Managing Director, New York at Framestore.

A special thank you to everyone who attended and followed along with #JWInsights, as well as our three sponsors – Akamai, EMX, and Fastly.

Looking forward to Insights 2020!
